Doctors’ Diaries
A couple weeks ago, PBS aired “Doctors’ Diaries”, the latest installment in a series following seven Harvard Medical School students from their first year through graduation, internship, and beyond.
Although I’m not an MD, I attended a year of med school classes as part of my graduate program. After watching the program last night, the memories of med school flooded back: the first day in anatomy, seeing patients on rounds, and especially of the students themselves. Although the show focused on the struggles in the doctors’ personal lives, it left me with a renewed admiration for those on the front lines, and gratitude that I was able to briefly visit their world.
